Our Love Song

This is our special love song. We had broken up and had just gotten back together ... after nearly a year of me trying to correct a big time mistake. Al Hibbler was the first version that we heard and became aware of the English lyrics. Even though we will never forget Al Hibbler's version, we have come to like the Il Divo version ... the most beautiful version ever of our love song.

Il Divo: Senza Catene (Without Chains) Italian lyrics

Non ho più catene ma solo piangerò
Lontano da te.
Non ho più catene perché so che
Il tuo amor è sol per me

E so che un dì ti rivedrò,
Ti stringerò ancor!

Guardo il ciel e so dove sei cosa fai
E dovunque andrai sentirai

Without Chains ... Italian lyrics translated:

I have chains no more
but I will only cry if I am far from you

and I know that someday I will see you again
and I will hold you again

I look to the sky and I know
where you are, what you do
and wherever you will go,
you will hear my sighs
they are only for you and
they talk about my love

I have chains no more because
I know that your love is only for me

and I know that someday I will see you again
and I will hold you again

Original Unchained Melody lyrics in English:

Oh, my love
my darling
I've hungered for your touch
a long lonely time
and time goes by so slowly
and time can do so much
are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
Godspeed your love to me

Lonely rivers flow to the sea,
to the sea
to the open arms of the sea
lonely rivers sigh 'wait for me, wait for me'
I'll be coming home wait for me

Oh, my love
my darling
I've hungered for your touch
a long lonely time
and time goes by so slowly
and time can do so much
are you still mine?
I need your love
I need your love
Godspeed your love to me

We still hold hands at every possible opportunity when, together, we hear it.

Grow old along with me! The best is yet to be, the last of life, for which the first was made. Our times are in his hand who saith, ‘A whole I planned, youth shows but half; Trust God: See all, nor be afraid.'    ~Robert Browning
